The curious, engaging form of the Aqua Table was created with the intention of inviting inquisitiveness. The margin between the works seemingly liquid shape and the sheer scale and impression of the dining/conference table is substantial.
The three fluid forms that act as the structures legs bulge out below the table and register as indentations at the surface. The dips in the products top are illustrative of the designers desire to create a complete uninterrupted shape and underling the wholly organic nature of this piece.
The asymmetrical, irregular tabletop is unique architectural but not devoid of function. Herein lies the exceptional quality of the Aqua Table design. The structural body is constructed from a gloss-finish polyurethane that allows the challenging geometry of the design.
The choice of polyurethane aided the sculptural qualities of the piece. The design and manufacture of the Aqua Table has only been made possible through the latest advances in technology. Its form was generated on complex geometry software and the design was then sculpted by computer numerical control.
