Designer’s Profile: Erwan Mével and Antoinette Parrau form a binomial of designers, met to the Art School of Rennes where they were graduated. And quite two bringing out of the Rennes Arts School for less than five years. Today, implanted in a studio of Rennes city (France), each develops the work and certain projects arise from four hands. The black diamond table was the first object realised together.
They work for some particular commands and work also for the specifiers and pursue their researches into their studio around the imagination as the projection of the spirit on an object.
Erwan works about tables and the relation between user and the object, how an object usual does make a dream? And he searches how an object can opens into the imagination and grow the space. Antoinette works about light in relation on the intimate. She uses the language of closers, accessories, sewing with the sliding lighting frame. And textiles answer and play with the artificial light. She scrutinizes the light and darkness, the colour variation, and searches a light full of energy and curiosities.
At the beginning, Erwan‘s tables have showed by the VIA at the Salon du Meuble, Paris in January 2005. And, They are nominated at the Grand Prix de la création de la ville de Paris, in November 2005.
Then the trade Maison&Objet, in Paris selected them for the “Talents à la carte” in January 2007 they were guest with the sliding lighting frame. And, they were show on the trend trails at Nelly Rody Agency.
And in April 2007, they have been selected among ten designers of year 2007, of the Satellite fair, Milan, by her founder Marva Griffin and Métropolis Magazine (New York).
